E is for Eric

I was going to do E is for Event so I was trying to think of a recent event we are all familiar with. I came up with Eric and Melissa's wedding and ATTEMPTED to paint one of my favorite pictures from their big day. I think the end result is hilarious because Eric looks unbelievably scary instead of incredibly happy :P

This is the failed attempt. This is what it's supposed to look like :P

D is for DandyLion

Branching out to different forms of media. mine is actually more girly than Tina's :(

D is for Devour!

D is for Dom Perignon

I really wanted to do "D is for Drinkability" but we didn't have any Bud Light here. I looked at the wet bar and this was the only "D" thing that I found. Painted with acrylic on canvas paper, laid flat on the table (instead of an easel). The dimensions of my bottle are way off!

D is for Dogs

I'll try to be more creative next week. For now, enjoy pictures of the monsters.. I mean dogs.

Toby and all his fur call it a day.

Leila often gives me this expression hoping I'll pick her up. How can I resist?

C is for Converse

At long last, C is for Converse! Wendy and I each made one of these using a direct transfer technique I found in my "Acrylic Revolution" book. I've always liked the idea of photographing or drawing things about my friends that sort of represent them - like their favorite pair of shoes. So this is my take on a BFF picture only instead of it being of us, it's of our shoes. I staged a little photo shoot for our Chucks, made it black and white and then over exposed it in iPhoto. Then we made copies to transfer onto the canvases we painted.

C is for Crystal Chandelier

It's my Mom's new chandelier. The picture doesn't do it any justice but I thought it looked cool from the bottom up.

C is for self explanatory

C is for Clouds

021509 C 2
I tried to use all the painting techniques from painting class. It was a toughie. Happy C Day, everyone!

B is for brakes...

Brake hot. Everything is black and white except for the brakes which were glowing red.

B is for Bat

Sunday, February 08, 2009
My 4-year old cousin came over with his animal figurines. Among his amphibian, reptile, and mammal collection was this bat figurine. I drew it and then colored it using a blending stamp and colored pencils.

B is for Buttons

Thanks for letting me play along, DNRtime people!

I'm beginning to realize that embroidery is a super cheap craft. Thread is only 33¢! Anyway, I thought I'd get some practice in by completing my first entry with good ol' thread and fabric.

B is for Bacon

Not Bacon aka Toby (Thanks a lot B). Instead I give you the real deal.. or a drawing of bacon in a tub of hot oil. I know how much this audience loves deep fried food.

A is for Aardvarticado

Kind of a double A thang, but it's really guacamole.

A is for Governator

I mean Arnold. No, this is not the way I view our Governator (or is it :P). I found this caricature online and attempted to copy it.. attempted.
Hey, we're only at A, give me a break, I'm hoping to get better by the time we get to Z!

A is for apple chips

I wanted to draw something other than an apple... so I drew apple chips and used some paint to color it in.
