I is for Iberian Breakfast

Spanish brekky at Cesar in Piedmont. Well... the start of it. It ended with churros con chocolate.

I is for ice pack

I ran four miles yesterday and biked 15 miles today. My body, especially my tush, needs a good icing! It's a lame drawing but I really wanted to use these new Derwent studio colored pencils that D gave to me. As you can see, I am really bad at "blending shadows and highlights" - what these pencils were intended to be good for. Anyone want to take a drawing class??

I is for Ice Cream

For lent I gave up this culinary wonder and it has been pretty hard. I miss it a lot and I'm sure it misses me too :P Sundaes, halo halo, milkshakes, floats, ice cream cake, ugh. Two more weeks and we'll be one again.. I can't wait

H is for Halibut

I didn't want to be completely left out of "H" week so with an hour before the "i" deadline and 7 days late for "h", I present to you "H"alibut ...the ugliest fish ever.

H is for Hayward Hamburgers!

I always thought that this Wendy's on Foothill Blvd looked really cool and original.

H is for Hands

These 4 day old hands belong to baby Benjamin. I was patiently waiting for him to go into his praying hand position but that didn't happen. Trust me, it's the cutest thing. Once he did it I knew he was Grandma's boy and they'd be church buddies soon enough (Grandma is a devout Catholic). A few seconds later I felt his lil farts and figured out the position was just helping him push :P

G is for Golden Gate Garden

Sooo... while Tina and I were in the Japanese Tea Gardens today, I was trying to think of something for "G" and I couldn't come up with anything... so I took this photo of "g"ear around 10pm...

It wasn't until after this shot that I realized... DUH! "G"arden! I took hella photos around Golden Gate Park too, lol. I'm an engineer dagnabit... numbers > letters

G is for Groom

MC 031509 (1) copy
This is going to be part of a cake topper that I'm making for a friend's wedding. Say hi to Minh! During the course of sewing on Minh's clothes, his head fell off several times! I added some extra hot glue so hopefully it'll hold. Minh is currently resting atop a jar as his head finishes drying from all the gloss I gave him. G-L-A-M-O-ROUS.

G is for Goofball

Yes, I'm the Goofball. I was walking around the house trying to find my "F" project. I searched for the "F"riendliest looking "F"lowers, snapped a picture, downloaded it, tweaked it and opened up DNRtime to post it. What do you know, last week was "F"... M-O-D-E-D! That tells ya how out of it I've been. Since I'm too lazy to find a real G project I hope my 2nd F will do. I specifically tried to find 3 of the friendliest looking flowers to represent D N R ;)

F is for Frank Lloyd Wright

no, that's not the guy who made Phantom of the Opera.

Yea, it's not the best photo of it, but the lighting in there is weird and very low, so I had to do some crazy color balancing to get it to look right. At the time, I just snapped it real quick so the white balance was a bit off.

F is for Fat Cat

I think I spent so much time on last weeks entry that I completely disregarded this week. I found a picture of a fat cat and quickly doodled it this morning. He's not as fat as I'd like him to be but he'll do. In case you're wondering, his name is Fatty Fredo.

F is for Fishing

F is for Fishing
...something I'd much rather be doing than studying! I promise to put more effort into next week's project but this is all I can manage while I cram. Drawn with pencil on the back of one of my index cards and then darkened highlights using Photoshop.

Hope everyone makes it to DNR this week, even if it's just a doodle. :)

E is for Embroidery

030109 Pillows (4)
Left (blue): I added some simple embroidery to an existing pillowcase; middle: Chabby Chic Kids; right: I made the pillowcase from a yard of fabric and embroidered a herringbone stitch to the top. Someone told me it looks a little Native American-ish; that was not the look I was going for.

E if for edifice

Took these in the city on Sat. I really like the way they came out. I didn't process them at all, but it looks like the camera's auto settings provided some good high dynamic range!
